When I decided that I was going to go to Africa for safari, I decided I also wanted to experience climbing the highest mountain in Africa; Mount Kilimanjaro. Mt. Kilimanjaro stands at 4,877 meters or 16,001 ft. It is a dormant volcano. I wanted to be really safe when climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, because of this I opted to go with a tour guide. I found http://www.climbmountkilimanjaro.com/ and started a conversation with them via email. They were very helpful and very reassuring. Climbing Kilimanjaro is fun, it really is! The last push of the summit was very hard. The days were spent walking through spectacular landscapes which change every day as you pass through different vegetation zones. The pace is smooth to ensure the longevity aspect of the journey and this also helps while you acclimate.
At the end of the day, the guides start to cook dinner, sometimes I would try and offer help and others I would go and wander around the campsite or chat with the other people on the guide.
As night falls, we all ate dinner together as I finished dinner I could see the stars coming out. As everyone started watching the stars the campsite became quiet holding on to the stunning view.
