Came into Austin for a family reunion and found an affordable “casita” on Air BnB. The place was very nice and the owner took care of us. I hate when we travel and end up having to throw leftovers away because our hotel doesn’t have a fridge, so it was nice to not worry about that since the rental came with a fridge, microwave and the normal things you’d need for preparing small meals.
Whatever you’re in Austin for, if the sun’s out in full force you’re probably going to want to cool down at some point, and when you do you’re going to truly appreciate the fact that there’s a place like Barton Springs within city limits. Grab some friends and post up for the day or just make a quick pit stop to jump in and beat the heat. We took some of our cousins and younger nieces out here and they loved it and it was a great way to tire them out without doing the same to ourselves.
Apparently there are some hidden swimming holes scattered around Austin and all of Texas. This was the only one we went to but if you’re on a road trip or something be sure to ask the locals and for some others they might be wise to.
