Bacolod City is a city that is widely known in the Philippines as the City of Smiles. I was able to grab an opportunity in going to Bacolod City. I rarely travel for some reasons and this time, I made sure that this trip to Negros Oriental is such a memorable one.
We didn’t ride an airplane from Cebu. What we did was that we used our car and eventually went to Dumanjug, Cebu to ride a barge so that we would be able to cross going to Guihulngan, Negros Oriental. The travel from Guihulngan to Bacolod City wasn’t really that easy. We stopped by La Castellana first before really going to Bacolod City. The travel from Guihulngan to La Castellana took 5 hours. After we made our stop, we went to Campuestohan Highland Resort and the travel was 3 hours. The resort we stayed is located at the mountainous part of Talisay City, Negros Occidental and it was really hard reaching to our destination point. The travel time wasn’t easy but after you’ve seen everything the place brings you, all the stress you had eventually disappears right away.
Campuestohan Resort was indeed very amazing. The view from the top allows you to see Bacolod City, Talisay City and some parts of Silay City. The resort also has a lot of amenities you could enjoy with. There are is a 300-meter zipline, air bike, wave pools and you could take a lot of pictures from the cartoon characters’ statue. It was a mini-Disneyland in the top of Negros.
The next day, we went to The Ruins. It was a historical place indeed since the place was still built during the 1900’s. It is also magical since the reason the sugar baron built it is because of his great love for his wife.
So this is my trip in Bacolod City. In my next Jrrny, I will be featuring another nice and awesome place that is still in Negros.
Bacolod is considered to be the Philippines’ “City of Smiles”. Illongos are so soft-toned even when they are already angry.
