Bandon, OR, United States for Golf Marathon

As one gentlemen from Scotland told me once upon a time during my first visit to Bandon Dunes in Oregon, “There is no need to play in Scotland when you have a gem like this in the United States!”. Just returned from another fantastic three day trip and played all four of the courses. Each one a materpiece, providing some of the best links golf available anywhere coupled with scenery overlooking the wave swept Pacific Ocean. From the minute you arrive on the shuttle and are “greeted by your first name” to your final libation in the main lodge 19th hole bar, it is an experience unmatched. Simple in design and unpretentious in all facets, the resort provides some of the best service one will find. Whether you want a white linen experience in the lodge or (still casual!) or just some classic pub food at McKeys, the food & beverage offerings are outstanding. Then there is always the famous underground Bunker Bar, where you can play parlor games well into the night while enjoy a well aged single malt. For a the true golfer, this is a must and if not a golfter, go for the service, scenery and perhaps a walk on one of the most beautiful stretch of beaches anywhere!

Insider Tip

Make your reservations well in advance and make sure to play The Preserve Par 3 course too!
