Bangor, Maine, United States for Author Stephen King's home growing up

Bangor was a very quiet and interesting city I visited in Maine. Although the town has plenty of culture, and I had a hard time finding post worthy attractions. I was in a coffee shop in the downtown area chatting with a woman in line and she suggested I visit the house that famous horror author Stephen King grew up in. Needless to say I jumped to the opportunity and checked out the estate. It was pretty creepy! The Iron gates had iron spiders, bats, and strange reptiles attached to it. Now I see why that guy wrote such spooky books!

My favorite part of this trip though was the Bed and Breakfast I stayed in right in Bangor. It was a vegetarian B&B with amazing hospitality. Wish I could have stayed longer but Bangor was only a pit stop for me. I highly recommend a visit to this B&B, especially if you have time for some relaxing while in the city.

Insider Tip

Visit the downtown area and talk to locals. I wouldn’t have found many attractions without their help. They were all very friendly!
