China isn’t exactly known for its kindness toward critters, so I was overwhelmed with joy to stumble upon a cat cafe during my visit. Apparently this is sort of a thing in Beijing. I can’t speak for the others, but the feline residents here were abundant, healthy, and happy. You can tell that the owner really cares about these fluff balls. They were characteristically aloof for the most part, but their purrs gave away their appreciation of visitors’ company.
Aside from all of the furry friends (and cat-themed menu items!) the cafe itself is actually incredibly comfortable. It feels like home…if home was a cozy, otherworldly cat haven with delicious snacks and delightful teas.
