Wow, I had no idea there are things like this in New Mexico. We drove into the Chihuahuan Desert for the day. On the drive in I saw some high ancient sea ledges, flowering cactus, desert wildlife, and deep rocky canyons…. this is just above the surface! Hidden beneath the surface are more than 119 known caves that form a formation worth exploring. The caves were all formed when sulfuric acid dissolved the surrounding limestone leaving behind caves of all size. Some are questioning if it could be possible that life on Mars would be similar to that of microbial life in caves. After exploring the caves it makes me believe that this could be true.
