I caught an early flight into Chicago so I could spend a somewhat long weekend soaking up the culture, food, and all the other great things there are to do in Chicago. After dropping my luggage at the Omni Hotel where I stayed. I wanted to try and make it to the show at The Chicago Theater. I am glad I hurried. As I walked down North State Street, it appeared that the sign on the front of the building was the source of lighting the whole block. Now to be clear, you do not have to catch a show like I did to admire the theater. There is also an hourlong guided tour available year-round. The times change according to the performance schedules. I went back on my next trip to take the guided tour because I was so interested in the building. On the guided tour, I learned about the theater’s French-Baroque features. I also learned that the main staircase mimics that of the Paris Opera.
