Situated in the rolling hills of North Idaho, in picturesque Kootenai County, the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort + Hotel (http://cdacasino.com) offers travelers a relaxing retreat with an array of amenities. The resort features six restaurants, one of the largest day spas in the Northwest, a highly rated golf course, and over 100,000 square feet of gaming space. For a great night’s sleep, there are 300 luxury rooms divided into the Spa Tower and the Mountain Lodge.
Hotel rooms provide panoramic views of the surrounding sun-kissed landscape. The Spa Tower offers a modern décor with luxury at the forefront of its design. I stayed in the Mountain Lodge as I was drawn to experiencing the rustic décor. My room was packed with comfortable amenities including two queen size beds with super plush pillows, a full sofa along with a lounge chair, and all the items I hope to see including an in-room coffee maker, a large desk and working space for catching up on to-do lists, and high-speed WiFi. Access to the indoor pool and Jacuzzi were just around the corner. For special occasions, Executive and Presidential Suites are also available.
Located in the Spa Tower, Spa Ssakwa´q´n offers an impressive menu of services including a variety of massages and body treatments, manicures and pedicures, and facials. Room and spa packages are available, and guests will want to peruse the monthly spa specials for great deals. A la carte services are available for last-minute pampering before a night out.
In the 100,000 square feet of gaming space, guests will notice a massive assortment of Vegas-style slots, table games, and Keno. During my two night stay, the energy in the gaming areas was high and people gathered around their favorite games to cheer on friends and fellow travelers. Several beverage stations are located in the gaming areas, so guests can refill on coffee and soda whenever they like. Bar service is also available and there were plenty of servers passing through slot aisles to keep patrons satisfied.
One of the best features of the resort property is the incredible variety of dining venues. From upscale to casual grab-and-go, Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort + Hotel caters to every taste and budget. Jackpot Java and Creamery has an assortment of espresso beverages and bakery selections, while the Red Tail Bar & Grill has comfortable seating and glowing fireplaces to set the mood for an evening of wining and dining. Chinook Steak provides an upscale experience with Nisqually salmon, prime beef, and homemade pastas and pizza.
During my stay, I dined at Sweetgrass Cafe because I couldn’t resist the sautéed Idaho Trout with an amaretto almond glaze. I enjoy fish, and this was my first time experiencing this wonderful flavor combination. The crunch of the almonds offered just the right amount of texture to pair with the delicate and flaky trout. On my second night at the resort, I tried High Mt. Buffet for Friday’s seafood night. This was a lovely display of Northwest and local favorites including Alaska snow crab, beer steamed mussels, shrimp scampi, smoked salmon, and steamed clams. For landlovers, there was a fair selection of choices including a beautiful chef-carved baron of beef.
The Coeur d’Alene Tribe (http://www.cdatribe-nsn.gov) has developed a welcoming and impressive resort for travelers to enjoy the natural landscape, history, and culture of their people and traditions through a beautiful display of hospitality. Throughout the property, guests can peruse local culture and history through interactive displays and art installations.
My time at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort + Hotel was welcoming and luxurious and it’s definitely a place I will return in the future. To learn more and book your stay, visit http://cdacasino.com.
