Eugene, Oregon is well-known for track and field, hippies and Nike. These are all great but there’s a subject area the place is making waves in and that is microbreweries. The locals have an unspoken microbrewery crawl that entails the consumption of multiple 6% or higher craft beers. So without rambling on too much about the crawl, here are the 5 of the places that are withing a few blocks of each other and serve up the best local beers in town.

5. Sam Bond’s Brewing

From The Site: Sam Bond’s Brewing Company is a 10 bbl brewhouse and tasting room within the historic Foundry Building and conveniently located between downtown Eugene and the University of Oregon. We specialize in brewing and serving quality handcrafted ales.

4. Oakshire Brewing Public House

From The Site: Oakshire’s Public House opened on May 2nd, 2013 and features 12 taps and a cask engine pouring our four year round beers {Watershed IPA, Overcast Espresso Stout, Original Amber, and, added in June, 2015, Line Dry Rye IPA} as well as a selection of Oakshire’s small batch beers daily. The Public House is also home to our dock sales where you can purchase a keg and fill your corny can or growler.

3. Hop Valley Brewing Company

From The Site: We are curious what your craft is? What you do in your life says a lot about who you are. Our craft is definitely brewing beer! It’s important you know that about us, because anyone can follow a recipe and brew beer. But when something has your name on it, and when it is something your friends and family are going to drink, you need more than reading skills. You need to give it your heart and soul. 1. Falling Sky Brewing

From The Site: We are a collaboration of makers. Beer & science guy Jason owned a home brew shop. Brewers Scott & Michael were the managers. They met restaurant guy Rob who was looking to open a local spot. We all came together to LET IT POUR as Falling Sky Brewing in January 2012. We opened the Pour House Delicatessen in July 2013. The outpouring has been amazing! On behalf of all of us + Lead Brewer Scott S, Fermentation Guru Scott T, GM Nina, Head Baker Roger, Sous Chef Nate, Executive Chef Brandon and all our amazing staff… LET IT POUR!
