Falcarragh, Donegal, Ireland for Real Irish Views

Taking a three day trip to the middle of nowhere in Ireland was one of the most amazing trips I’ve taken in a long while. Only a 3-4 hour car journey from the busy Dublin City Centre was an almost empty and peaceful getaway. There are also buses that run from the city to falcarragh which takes just about the same time. Accommodation was sorted by a friend who has a house 15 minutes outside of Falcarragh, in Moyra Co. Donegal, however a lot of the houses there are rented out on AirBnb for great prices all along the Wild Atlantic Way. [ http://www.airbnb.ie/s/Falcarragh–Ireland?s_tag=fWkW3TSD ]

The landscape of this part of the country is incredible – even for a native! I honestly had never imagined that Ireland could look like this. As you drive through the flat plain between some of the mountains you imagine being somewhere completely different! There are trails for hikers and endless ways you can go. The beach was only a 20 minute walk from the small town and the water was refreshingly cold during the rare hot weather! If you ever decide to visit I would advise you to rent a car, pick a remote accommodation and plan your days to make the most of the beautiful countryside! [ http://www.walkingdonegal.net/ ]
