Highlands, Scotland for Kayaking & chilling

First pic is The Old Church House B&B in Broadford, Skye. I’ve stayed here loads of times and Paul and Jan are amazing hosts – the breakfast is the beat on Skye! As a base for sea kayaking it’s perfect. Gordon Brown’s world-famous Skyak school is just a short walk or drive away in Lower Breakish.

So… the main part of the holiday was a book tour, but these are the “in between” parts mainly in the Black Isle north of Inverness, and Skye where the order of the day was seeing friends, drinking, and chilling out by the sea.

Insider Tip

The Highlands are jam packed in summer, but don’t despair. North Kessock, Fortrose, and Beauly are all very short drives from Inverness and cute little places in their own right.
