Hawaii is on most people’s bucket list and for me, it stayed on my bucket list. Visiting Maui is #3 in my Top 5 Places Visited So far (the two that beat out Maui were in Europe).
The weather was sunny and, in my opinion, perfect. If you want to stretch your dollar, look for local eats or (I hate to recommend) fast food restaurants. Eating at hotel or
From enjoying a luau at sunset to zip lining through the jungle, there are so many things to do, with so little time to do them.
The adventure started with Mai Tais and dinner at one of the hotels near the one I stayed at. The next adventure was exploring the island some and enjoying the evening luau, which included unlimited Mai Tais!
The adventures continued with zip lining through beautiful lush jungles, and trying to catch my breath as half of my adventuring days were already gone.
Molokini crater is an absolute must even if you only snorkel. We opted in to do snuba diving (not scuba, snuba) at Molokini and then snorkeling at Turtle Town. The sea turtles there are very curious about divers but know that they are protected (so look, don’t touch). As we traveled back to shore, guess what they served on the boat? That’s right, more Mai Tais. That night, we explored an area that appeared to be the local hangout for food and drinks.
On the final day of our adventure, we attempted to drive the Road to Hana but we didn’t make. The Road to Hana is a long drive to Hana (if you didn’t already guess) along the mountain’s curvy road (please look up the aerial picture of this road; it’s insane). This road doesn’t cut through the land but flows with it along the coast. There are many stops along the way so it’s a full day of adventuring. We stopped to take pictures at a waterfall and take a dip. We stopped to see the volcano’s creation on Maui, including a black sand beach and a blow hole. Since we gave up because we didn’t start the trip early enough, we headed back to the hotel to have a late dinner and more Mai Tais. One day, I will finish what I started and make it to Hana. I will revisit Maui, drink plenty more Mai Tais, and start Many more adventures.
Avoid resturants at the hotel (highly overpriced)
