I stayed at a nice AirBNB right outside of the Hoover Dam area, it was a great location, close to Las Vegas (30 miles) and the dam. I had a rental car which made it very convenient for my day. I went to the hoover dam in the morning and the notorious strip at night. The Hoover Dam was great, the massive dam spans the Colorado rive and the Black Canyon which is the separator of Nevada and Arizona. The dam confines Lake Mead, the largest reservoir by volume in the United States. Walking over the dam and stopping in at the visitor bureau like I did allows you to walk away with more knowledge than when you started your journey. Theres also an hourlong tour for $30 that takes participants to see markings on the wall and such, I opted out since I had dinner plans on the strip.
