Post sitting in the world-famous Los Angeles traffic for far too long, I arrived at my hostel around 2 in the afternoon. It was great little gated place with lots of people bustling around but I was on a mission to get to Griffith Park before the day was up and catch the sunset over the entire Los Angeles Basin. So after I was able to get my bags put away, I was back in another Uber to beat the sunset over the city. Upon arrival to Griffith Park, it took me a few minutes to figure out how to exactly get up to the Observatory but there were some other people who had just walked back down and were more than helpful. The hike didn’t take long as it was a little over two miles altogether and the view was definitely something you want to write home about. I watched the sunset, wandered around the area a little more and then began my descent back down.
The place wasn’t that crowded because I visited it mid-day on a Wednesday but I heard it can get pretty populated on weekends. I will be coming back here next time I am in Los Angeles for sure.
