Los Angeles, CA, United States for Hollywood sign - The Iconic LA landmark

When I was a child I was fascinated by the Hollywood actors and their fabulous and posh lives. The Hollywood sign in Los Angelis, California was and still is one of the most iconic signs in the world.
A few months ago I had to travel to California to attend a business meeting. I had a one day stop in LA so the Hollywood sign was the first place to visit in my bucket list. I saw sign from a distance and it was nice to observe it. I left the car on the Griffith Observatory’s parking lot (which is free and fills up early on weekends) and head for a short loop hike of about three miles. After a 45-minute (one way) walk I was up on the hill. My excitement went away at the sight of a huge fence. I was disappointed to find that it is illegal to get close, not to mention climbing it. I tried to take some pictures but it was really hard to get a good one with sign itself. The closest (legal) spot, still didn’t show up in my pictures. I was so furious that I just sat on the ground and cried. My heart was torn apart. But when I lift my head I was amazed to see this beautiful panoramic views in front of me. The Ocean, downtown Los Angeles, the Santa Ana Mountains of Orange County and the rest of the majestic California landscape were one of the vantage points the hill has to offer.
So if you expect that visiting the Hollywood sign itself will blow your mind, just forget the idea. Do not waste your time trying to get a good picture! Go there and just enjoy the view – it is more worth it!
