Los Angeles, CA, United States for Smorgasburg Los Angeles!

Sunday Funday is a day I look forward to every week! I love sleeping in and indulging in life’s simple pleasures before starting fresh on Monday morning. A treat-yo-self type of day is the perfect end to a weekend.

One of my favorite Sunday activities is food tasting at Smorgasburg in Downtown Los Angeles. Smorgasburg consist of gourmet food, pop-up shops, themed events, and a great time. It’s family friendly and there is something for everyone.

Smorgasburg originated in Brooklyn, NY. I used to follow their Instagram and drooled over the food photos before they launched in DTLA this past June. I am not ashame to say that I went the first day that it opened and I have been back several times since then. Hmm … I realized I might have an itsy bitsy obsession, haha.

What I love about Smorgasburg is the variety of food vendors and the list keeps growing every week. I’ve had noodles, tacos, acai bowl, ramen burger, lobster, soft shell crab sandwich, cherry blossom ice cream, and a beer or two in the designated beer garden. It’s pretty much a foodie’s playground.

In between eating and drinking, you should definitely do some shopping! There are so many unique local designers and artists at Smorgasburg every week. Some of the vendors are only there for that one Sunday so I would suggest getting the goods while you can. My personal favorite is the outdoor bookstore.

When you are ready to get out to Smorgasburg, to make your adventure a pleasant one, I would recommend that you get there early. Arriving before noon will help you avoid long lines, vendors selling out of food, and harmful sun exposure.  I would also recommend that you bring cash for vendors that cannot accept cards. Be sure to look for signs for the parking lot that offers 2 hour complimentary parking.

Most importantly, have fun and eat well! I hope this post will help you plan out an awesome Sunday Funday in the near future.

Insider Tip

Get there early! No lines for anything!
