New York for Walking the High Line

When I visited New York recently for a long weekend, my friend suggested that we walk the High Line. I had never heard of it, but with all the tasty treats we were going to be eating a walk sounded like a good idea! It was a really great way to spend a day!

I was staying at the Hotel Deauville which is about a half hour walk away so we just left straight from the hotel to add to the walk a bit. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the High Line, but it’s basically an old rail line that was converted into a long walkway/park. It’s about a mile and a half long with lots of benches and nice plantings and good views of the city and of some interesting public art. There were sculptures and murals that were really fun and made great backdrops for pictures. There were lots of people out that day because it was a nice sunny day. We spent about an hour walking, chatting, and taking some nice pictures.

I would really recommend visiting the High Line on your next trip! It was really fun and we worked up a good appetite for dumplings at Mimi Cheng’s dumplings later! Which, by the way, are amazing.
