Tucked in Kamilche Valley’s rolling mountain ridges, surrounded by rain forests and canyons, Little Creek Casino Resort offers guests a variety of activities amid luxurious accommodations. The deluxe resort pairs quintessential Pacific Northwest decor with an artistic interior honoring The Squaxin Island Tribe. Throughout the property, a number of displays share Squaxin Island Tribe arts and crafts, including wood carvings and framed illustrations.
Accommodation options range from spacious guest rooms to luxury suites. All accommodations include WiFi, a personal coffee maker, 32” flat screen television, and more amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. Spa Rooms include a tub-for-two perfect for romantic getaways. Suites provide a king-size bedroom with a separate living room, perfect for families on the go or business travelers who need extra space for social gatherings. My standard room had a cozy king size bed, large sofa, and a desk. The walk-in shower was a nice surprise and I enjoyed bath amenities from The Essential Elements Bath Collection (Gilchrist & Soames).
Hotel guests can enjoy the on-site fitness center and an extra large indoor pool perfect for family fun, though extended adult-only hours ensure a relaxing soak for couples. An arcade center features XBOX 360 systems to keep the whole family entertained, and pet friendly rooms are available upon request.
If teeing up is your game, you’ll want to pay a visit to Salish Cliffs Golf Club, an 18-hole, par-72 championship course. Welcoming players of all abilities, Salish Cliffs has been noted as one of the country’s best casino courses by Golfweek. The course was designed by architect Gene Bates and sculpted out of the Kamilche Valley’s lush landscape. Stay & Play packages are available for singles and couples.
If you prefer a more leisurely stay, Seven Inlets Spa offers a number of treatments and relaxation experiences from The Squaxin Island Tribe, “The People of the Water,” featuring Native American influences and healing elements. Ranging from massage therapy to organic facials and body treatments, the Spa caters to rejuvenation for body and mind. Packages are available, like the Romance Package that includes resort accommodations with a mid-afternoon check-out, spa credit, and sparkling wine for two.
I was impressed with the casino gaming floor as I sought out a little fun for the night. The casino offers a wide variety of slots, table games, and a dedicated poker room. Players Club members receive a number of benefits and discounts for resort amenities and services.
Of course, no resort getaway is complete without exploring culinary cravings. Little Creek offers seven different dining venues to tempt your taste buds, including the Creekside Buffet, Island Grille, the Squaxin Island Seafood Bar, and Salish Cliffs Grille. The Island Grille has an incredible breakfast deal featuring two eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, and toast for just $3.99 until 9am. Lunch and dinner ranges from the fresh local catch to Angus beef and a full service bar offers a nice assortment of regional wines.
During my stay, I dined at Creekside Buffet for the Friday night Grand Buffet which includes an incredible assortment of locally-harvested seafood. I sampled Dungeness crab, king crab, and a variety of clams and mussels. Other entrees included Chicken Oscar, sirloin steak with mushroom sauce, spicy rope sausage, and tender prime rib. Sides ranged from red potatoes with a creamy bacon ranch sauce, seasonal vegetables, and a nice salad selection. I was there on a particularly busy night and there may have been a shortage of staff to clear tables and refill beverages, but the food quality and variety was excellent and it’s a venue I’ll return to again. The Grand Buffet is a great choice for seafood lovers, while other theme nights include Italian Night, Barbeque Wednesday, and more, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Little Creek Casino Resort is again nominated for the annual Best of Western Washington awards and it’s easy to see why. This is one of Washington State’s largest casinos, and there are countless ways to spend an overnight retreat from relaxation to high energy entertainment.
From live music and dancing to karaoke competitions, there’s always something new happening at the resort. Special events range from nightlife to family friendly events. Coming up, the Halloween Party takes place October 29 at the Skookum Creek Event Center with $5,000 in cash prizes available in the Costume Contest. Later this season, the first annual Christmas Market takes place November 25 through 27 and will offer jewelry, woodwork, and more native crafts, along with photo sessions with Santa.
Little Creek Casino Resort is located on the outskirts of Shelton WA and just over an hour drive from downtown Seattle, or a mere fifteen miles from Olympia. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the dining and entertainment options at Little Creek Casino Resort. For more information and to book your stay, visit https://www.little-creek.com.
