Drove for 5 hours to get to the beach from the jungle…..way too long……two lane road, brutal driving.
Stayed at Bahia Del Sol Beach Front Hotel on Playa Potrero – AMAZING setting and beach, water was as warm as a bath.
Initially we booked the family suite, but it was in the back, away from the beach, very dark, and too many screaming kids.
Moved to the Honeymoon suite with a second room (not attached, but our daughter, age 12, was quite happy in it).
Honeymoon Suite has its own small yard and patio area where we did not have to claim lawn chairs (not that it was really a battle for real estate).
The hotel restaurant was decent, good for breakfast (included), but there were many restaurants near by to try.
The Shack Restaurant, just up the street, owned by Americans, run a good show with good food. live music.
Walk towards Playa Flamingo along the beach and there are a few restaurants that are good.
Itallian Restaurant La Sodita Italiana excellent
Papaya restaurant was supposed to be good, did not make it on this trip.
Yoga was great on the property
Pool was nothing special, but ocean was like a bath tub and beautiful.
Fairly empty beach – Playa Flamingo is the next beach and was much busier
Iguana’s everywhere, on the roof, this was a bit alarming the first few nights in the hotel.
Pangas was our favourite restaurant in the area, about 15 minute drive.
