Portland, OR for Timbers game at Providence Park

Living in a small college town has its upsides and it’s downsides. As a huge professional sports fan, I felt like I was alway missing something when living in the small college town of Eugene, OR. I finally decided to get out of town for the week and make a weekend trip up to Portland. Within an hour and a half, I was drinking beers at a bar called the “Cheerful Bullpen”, getting ready for my first Portland Timbers game. The Portland fans are some of the most entertaining, die-hard fans you will ever see in Major League Soccer. After quickly chugging our last pitcher, we started to make our ay to Providence Park. Coincidentally, my first Timbers game was a playoff game against the Vancouver Whitecaps. The atmosphere was electrifying! I loved every second of it. If it wasn’t for my friends, I would still be trying to attempt all the cheers the fan do throughout the game. The stadium was great. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house which made watching the game even mire enjoyable. I couldn’t have asked for better evening of fun. The Timbers won and the whole city celebrated! Go Timbers
