Canada road trip
Every year I make a big family trip with my in laws; this year was a road trip in Canada during spring. Don’t be full by the word spring; it was not warm at all.
We started our trip by driving to Cancun and taking a flight there to Ottawa, our first stop.
We rented two cars to fit us all (6 adults and a toddler) over there.
Ottawa is a beautiful city, very clean and with a lot of museums, I recommend if you are planning to visit the parliament do it early in the morning cause by the time we wanted to go they were sold out around noon.
Instead we visited the National gallery of Canada.
Which was very fun but it is also huge so don’t go on a rush.
Our next stop was Montreal.
Montreal is an amazing city which combines the old with the new, there are a lot of festivals, museums, art galleries, parks and saint Catherine Street is full of boutiques if you are looking to do a little shopping.
Don’t forget to try the traditional poutine, which can be find almost every where but I recommend having some at the vieux port after a visit to Notre Dam cathedral, which is the old part of the city. You will enjoy walking around the port, It has a nice view, boutiques and restaurants.
Across the port you will see the île Sainte Hélène, there you will find the biosphere, la ronde (six flags), and the casino; the biggest one I have ever seen, it has around 5 floors.
While we where in Montreal we took a quick tour to Quebec City, it took us around 3 hours each way. Quebec is a beautiful city and has the majestic hotel Le Château Frontenac. If you are planning a longer stay go to the ice hotel and have a different experience.
Mont Tremblant is a sky resort, dot worry if you don’t know how to sky, us either but they offer private and group classes, also they can rent you all the equipment.
We didn’t last long skying after a few falls, but later at night you can enjoy the little village down the mountain, full of bars and restaurants.
The best of our stay in Mont Tremblant was the dog sledding; it was a unique experience, the dogs are beautiful but lets don’t forget about the great views, you will be able to ride along with and expert and another inside enjoying the ride. After your tour you are offer some hot chocolate.
Toronto is more likely US style; we left behind seeing everything in French.
If you are planning to visit Toronto, try to make into hockey season, you will love the experience even do you don’t know anything about hockey trust me.
If you haven’t seen the Niagara falls these is your chance, rent a car and drive there, it is an incredible experience and you will be amazed just looking at them.
That was our last stop and the end of our trip.
