I had a chance to visit Saariseka with my sister, on my tour to Finland. Saariseka is basically a village of Finland located in mountainous area in northern side of the country. Whole place is covered with snow and basically a hub for sporty activities like skiing, hiking, etc. Winters here are not for hibernation, but full of exciting adventures, and fun things to do all over the place. Winter nights are a magical time which depicts meters and meters of snow covered with blue twilight, an extreme snow is what the actual heart of winter offers. The beauty heightens when the sunrise and bring to us the beautiful daylight offering a perfect scene for skiing. It is the best place to enjoy true essence of winter as it offers Reindeer Safari, Snow-tank Safaris, Horse riding (with full protocol), and my personal favorite is Ice-fishing safari. I had great fun while ice fishing, as it was first time for me and was really exciting and different experience. Events are so well organised and properly planned for both winter and summer season, that you won’t experience any hurdle or obstacle in fulfilling your all day adventures. Lunch was prepared over open fire and then we take a tour with our guide in snowmobiles to a church and museum.
Beauty of the lace is enhanced by the glass igloos which offer you mesmerizing view of northern lights with twinkling starry sky. Glass igloos are the highlights of this place which brings a breathtaking view to the eyes.
Finland is known by its snow and long nights, but yes I have experience the best of my times here, both with my family and if I want to enjoy time in silence.
