San Francisco, CA, United States for More than a city with a bridge

Recently I decided to take a weekend to head down to San Francisco. It is a 1-2 hour trip from the Sacramento area, so I try to leave early enough to get settled into my hotel and still have time for some fun.
San Francisco is not only known for the bridge, but also the cable cars. This I find is one of the best ways to travel the city. You can still use a car, but rush hour traffic is a beast. If you stop and get a San Francisco “CityPASS” you can ride the cable car for free which is absolutely wonderful!
One of my favourite places to visit while I am in San Francisco is Pier 39. This is not just any old pier, it is alive with shops, restaurants and street entertainment. I always get a bowl of fresh made clam chowder, it always hits the spot as a nice lunch.
While down in San Francisco I love to visit the many museums that are kept there. From the very hands on Exploratorium, to the various art museums or spending the day in awe at the California Academy of Sciences, they have something for every interest and age. Tickets can be a bit pricey, but with the “CityPASS” I am able to get into a selection of museums for a fraction of the cost.
I don’t get to go often, but I always enjoy a trip down to San Francisco for sun, fun and a bowl of clam chowder.
