All the cool kids hang out at Dolores Park (in the heyday of YOLO, I heard it referred to as DOLO, but please don’t call it that). The views over the Mission are great, and I love people watching in such a vibrant part of the city. On my last few visits, I had a fantastic time relaxing with friends in the grass and eating ice cream. Bi-Rite Creamery is only a block from the park on 18th and Dolores and justifiably famous for delicious flavors and high quality ice cream. On warm days that often means ridiculous lines, but I’ve got a secret to get my ice cream in record time. Bi-Rite has two storefronts right next to each other, one sells traditional ice cream in many flavors and the other sells two of their artisan flavors in soft serve form. The soft serve window never has a line and is always delicious. I am an unabashed lover of soft serve ice cream and it’s absolutely amazing when made from high quality ingredients, so I always head straight to that window when there is a line for the traditional ice cream – delicious!
