Last year was my first time participating in the Seattle SantaCon. It was a riot. I went with a few friends, whose excitement at the beginning might have outdone my own. I was a little hesitant about it (hoards of adults dressing like Santa and drinking excessively?), but the moment I got all my Santa accouterments, I knew we were about to have a blast.
It was a couple of weeks before Christmas. We all hopped into a couple of Ubers and jetted downtown around 2 p.m. Everyone tended to stay close to Pike Place, and it didn’t take us long to find them. HUNDREDS of Clauses (Mr. and Mrs.) were roaming the streets, already jolly from the festivities (and probably some booze). The event is *sort* of a pub crawl, but the organizers of the event are careful to emphasize that it’s not so much about being bar flies for a day. They want to make sure that people are also focusing on creativity and community, which is pretty cool.
We made plenty of new friends that day, and ended with way too many tacos at El Borracho. Can’t wait for next time!
