Shanghai, China for relocation

When we relocated to Shanghai for my career, we were lucky enough to stay at the Andaz in Shanghai for several months. Situated in Xiantiendi, you can walk to all the cool shops, restaurants, parks and more. But that is not the reason to stay there. The staff at the Andaz deliver the best customer service I have ever experienced in my travels around the world. They know your name and offer free breakfast, in room snacks/beverages, wine happy hour, espresso, etc. and all with a smile. The rooms are gorgeous and lucky me got upgraded to a one bedroom suite with floor to ceiling windows and expansive views, walk-in closet and dining room. Oh, did I mention the bathroom with mood lighting and Toto, the heated toilet with multiple features that I didn’t even know I needed. The gym and pool are world class as well. If you go to Shanghai, treat yourself to the Andaz!

Insider Tip

Watch crossing China streets-there is no pedestrian right of way in China. Even walking with the traffic light, you could get hit so watch your step. Don’t change direction when walking down the sidewalk-bikes and cars will go up on sidewalks too and come up behind you quickly. If your forward motion doesn’t change direction, drivers will go around you. Be careful out there!
