Less than one hundred miles from Seattle, or just fifty miles from Vancouver BC, the Silver Reef Hotel • Casino • Spa (http://www.silverreefcasino.com) provides a luxurious Pacific Northwest getaway with views of Mt. Baker. Operated by the Lummi Nation, the resort is packed with dining options, entertainment and business facilities, an impressive gaming floor, and wonderful accommodations for a fabulous night out.
The resort pairs contemporary design with classic comfort. My reservation was for a Deluxe King room and I was pleased with the spacious layout, plush bedding, and extra large windows for a panoramic view of the outdoors. I appreciated the large desk and comfortable chair so I could catch up on work thanks to the complimentary WiFi. The bathroom was extra large and featured ROAM, a deluxe line of bath amenities guests will also notice at the Spa.
With two towers, Silver Reef has 206 guest rooms and suites plus a Diamond Executive Floor with restricted access to Diamond, Emerald, and Sapphire Specialty Suites for those seeking an upgraded experience. The Presidential Suite includes a large kitchen and bar, full dining room, and sitting area separate from the master suite. The bath area is extra luxurious with a deep soaker tub and large standing shower. The décor is contemporary and inviting, and the Presidential Suite offers a perfect space for private business meetings or an extra special weekend away.
During my stay, I took full advantage of the complimentary breakfast buffet provided to hotel guests. Breakfast items range from comfort food favorites like eggs, potatoes, waffles, and biscuits with gravy to a wide assortment of grab-and-go items like fruit and pastries.
Silver Reef is home to a diverse portfolio of dining options. The Steak House at Silver Reef offers fine dining options, including their award-winning naturally aged Prime Steaks. Panasia offers contemporary cuisine from the Far East. For a quick bite, Pizzanini is open around the clock and they serve handmade calzones and WoodStone pizzas.
During my stay, it was Seafood Festival night at The Buffet, so I was overjoyed to try an assortment of local-caught fish and crab. The Dungeness crab was tender and sweet, and I was particularly pleased when I tried the Salmon Hash—a wonderful combination of local-caught salmon, potatoes, and vegetables. The buffet also featured baron of beef at the carving station, clams, mussels, and a generous salad bar. The dessert selection was good, ranging from a decadent maple pecan cream pie to an assortment of gluten free and sugar free options, including cheesecakes.
As part of my weekend escape, I enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool—which has extended hours for adults. Next door to the pool is a full fitness center, and entrance to the Spa. A full range of spa services are offered, including brightening facials, massage, and manicure and pedicure packages to suit every budget.
For business or pleasure, Silver Reef Hotel • Casino • Spa provides a relaxing retreat with luxurious amenities to accommodate every style of traveler. There is even overnight RV parking for travelers on the go. With more than 50,000 square feet of gaming, in addition to a calendar of events featuring sports celebrations and special concerts, there is a little something for everyone at this northwestern resort.
