Snow Hill Island Antartica for Meeting Penguins

I was lucky enough to take a cruise past this island. On the ice about 400M from the low ice cliffs on Snow Hill’s South Coast is Antartica’s northernmost and most accessible, emperor penguin rookery. The colony is estimated to hold more than 4000 breeding pairs. The first time it was visited in 2004 by a Russian icebreaker carrying tourists. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed
