Modeled after ship sails and hailed as “one of the indisputable masterpieces of human creativity, not only in the 20th century but in the history of humankind”, the Opera House will render you speechless. I remember walking up the steps in tow with the group I was traveling with and wondering why the hell we needed to go walk around a giant music hall. I was happy enough seeing it from the expensive 3-hour cruise we just took around the Watson Bay. Well that preconception was very incorrect. The place is breathtaking on the inside even more than it is from the outside. The thing that I sort of enjoyed most were the shell tiles. I grew up in the tile industry to I like to occasionally nerd out about it. Plus who hates shell tile? The tour wasn’t that expensive at only $37 and you get shown quite a lot for that price. There were more expensive tours but we stuck to the cheaper one because, like I said, the cruise around the bay was a serious kick to the wallet. If you go to Sydney then you need to take some time to got tour this place.
