The holiday season is close to my heart for a lot of reasons. For one, I am an overgrown child and love anything that even nods to Christmas. Secondly, it’s about the only time I get to see my extended family – which is usually an altogether pleasant experience. All of us (about 15 people total, including little ones) were staying around Portland, which is where my grandmother lives. As a little pre-holiday treat, some of us decided to take a drive over to Timberline Lodge to play in the snow and have a little picnic. We had so much fun. My niece and nephews were overwhelmed with glee at the sight of all of the snow, complete with perfect sledding hills.
The kiddos’ stamina definitely outdid that of us old folks. After a couple of hours, me, my boyfriend, parents, and uncle were digging out our uKeg and peanut butter sandwiches. The cold didn’t seem so insufferable with some beer and food in our stomachs. : ) Perfect way to kick off the holidays.
