Tokyo for Yakitori Alley

Yakitori essentially means BBQ, so it makes sense that this is basically an underground alley of BBQ places situated next to a big train yard. It’s got rows of little restaurants that all have makeshift kitchens all serving up their own variation of tasty cuisine. There’s a good variety, but by chance we went somewhere and I got smelt, which was cooked whole with its eyeballs and everything. It was definitely an experience, but it was pretty disgusting. I’m pretty open minded, and tried to enjoy the smelt, but it was just gross. The place looks super cool but I’d do some research to find better food if I ever went back.

Have you done this? What can you add to this jrrny?
