Are you into golf? I know I always try and get out for a round as much as I can. When the snow hits, everyone wants to run off to the mountains. Well let them, I have a secret if all that snow isnt quite your thing. The winter Pitch and Putt at Queen Elizabeth Park is ideal for beginners and experience golfers alike. The enchanting course features beautiful city views and 18 short par 3 holes, none over 110 yeards. The best part of winter-time Pitch and Putt…. Its FREE! The City of Vancouver offers complimentary access for whoever wants to play during the winter months. Sign me up! I had a great time golfing out, was not too cold and allowed for a great game.
Quickly, I found out that the formalities of golf are gone during the winter season. You will not find caddies, beverage carts, marshals or anything like that. But, what you will find is a whole lot of different characters who regularly use the course. I teed up for a quick round but I witnessed people in costumes, kids, dads pushing strollers, and for some reason even people doing Yoga poses during the waits. It was so much fun, light hearted, and joyous out there. It was actually loud which doesnt happen on the course usually. Complete strangers cheered each other on as if they have known each other their whole life.
