My mission: Indulge in a little relaxation prior to embarking on a Carnival Cruise out of Long Beach. My success: I found an ideal oasis for lounging under palm trees at The Cove Hotel, located just a few minutes from LGB airport.
The Cove Hotel is a stunning boutique property with a chic coastal design highlighting cool colors and beach decor accents. With the largest guestrooms in Long Beach, I adored the spaciousness of my King suite. My room included a cozy seating area, large work station, and the most amazing bathroom with both a claw-foot tub and a large shower with a rainfall showerhead.
Inside my room I made use of the Keurig coffee maker and complimentary pods, and loved wrapping myself up in the luxurious bathrobe after a relaxing dip in the pool. And, oh yes, did I enjoy that pool. The pool deck was just steps from my room and the large heated outdoor pool was so inviting, surrounded by palm trees and cabanas. In the evening, it was lovely to lounge poolside at the fire pits and enjoy a beverage. The on-site Wave Lounge serves cocktails and local beers with pizza and apps.
I had a great sleep and in the morning loved waking up to a complimentary continental breakfast with fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals, pastries, and an assortment of beverages. There’s also a specialty coffee and smoothie bar in the lounge. Other hotel perks include free WiFi throughout the property, a wireless business center, and lots of parking. If you’re heading out on a cruise, be sure to look into The Cove Hotel’s Park & Cruise packages.
If you’re roadtripping, this is a great neighborhood to call home for the night. Directly across the street are Albertsons and Walgreens, so it’s easy to stock up on snacks and beach supplies. You’ll also find Starbucks and a number of quick-stop eateries in the neighborhood. If you’re a fan of In-N-Out Burger, take note there’s one less than a mile away to satisfy those late night cravings.
The Cove Hotel is a quick four-mile drive to downtown, or you can hop the Metro Blue Line for a smooth 20-minute ride to downtown attractions like The Pike Outlets, Aquarium of the Pacific, Catalina Express, or The Queen Mary. The hotel location was perfect for my getaway, with an easy route to exploring the Long Beach waterfront and then embarking on a Carnival Cruise.
Mostly, I loved the convenience after my airport arrival. I was lounging by the pool within minutes of my arrival. The atmosphere of The Cove Hotel is welcoming and warm, while the pool deck and fire pits add a cool vibe to the boutique property. I loved being so close to area attractions while also benefitting from a laid back neighborhood. My time at The Cove Hotel was perfectly relaxing, and a great addition to my Long Beach cruise weekend getaway.
