The “world’s most dangerous road” isn’t used for much real traffic these days, but it’s a great place to mountain bike! Lots of providers in La Paz have daily excursions; I went with Gravity Assisted Mountain Bikes, which has the newest bikes and the best reputation. The road itself would be terrible to drive (the bus that took us to the top, via another route, followed us down the road…) but is generally pretty easy to bike. It’s about 54km, almost all downhill, with a little flat part near the end; took several hours. Amazing views!
I only crashed once… (and that wasn’t anywhere that I could have gone over a cliff)
